Chakravuyha album, composed by popular Telugu music director SS Thaman, was one of the most anticipated in recent times. And it was not just for the music. SST had roped in high profile actors like Jr NTR and Kajal Aggarwal to lend their voices to the songs. And people were curious to see how it turned out. Has it met the expectations? We will have a look.
Geleya geleya: Sung by Jr NTR is assumed to be the intro song with Puneeth dancing in full flow. It’s a fast paced song with rocking beats which makes you tap your foot. Even the lyrics is hip hop and will definitely appeal to the youth. However Jr NTR s rendering of the song can make purists cringe due to the pronunciation at certain places. Never the less its a high-voltage & absolutely enticing song which will instantly connect to the youth.
Arey arey enaithu: Definitely the pick of this very short album. Though there is excessive auto tuning, Puneeth’s voice is soothing and this definitely stands among his top songs. Again Kajal Aggarwal has tried to spoil the “party” with a few bad enunciations, but awesome music (especially the violin bits) and orchestration coupled with Puneeth’s singing more than makes up for it. This song will linger on the minds of music lovers for a long time.
Ninthalli Nillalare: From the lyrics, looks more like a montage song. Very sweet lyrics and even sweeter voice. Though again we could say auto tuning could have been avoided, final output is good and the visuals in the movie would definitely make the song even more appealing.
Theme Song: Chandan Shetty, who wrote the lyrics for Geleya geleya, has penned this song and has sung it as well. The song perfectly sets the mood for watching this movie, touted to be a political thriller. Its more of a rap and I am sure the fans would love having this as the BGM in the movie.
Overall Chakravyuha is a very good album and surely carries forward the opulent legacy of Puneeth Rajkumar movies music. Though having its share of negatives, SS Thaman has succeeded in churning out an album which would be liked by all.
